Yvan Muller - VX RacingA solid performance at Mondello saw VX Racing's Yvan Muller take two second places, only being robbed of a win by a misfire in the second race. At Thruxton on a wet and miserable April afternoon he was hoping to evaluate Dunlop's new slick tyre. How disappointed we you to come away from Ireland without a win? For sure I am disappointed because I was quicker on the track but unfortunately the luck was not on my side. There is nothing I can do, but yes I am disappointed. It looked like you'd got the second race won. What actually happened with the car - a misfire? Yes, a spark plug broke down so I was on 3 cylinders, that why Jimmy passed me 3 corners from the end. You were driving phenomenally all weekend - the car obviously handling well in tricky conditions? Yeah, the car was ok compared to the other cars. The conditions were very difficult because they were changing every two or three laps. That's why many drivers made some sort of mistake and went off, so it was difficult to stay on the road and at the same time to go quickly. Have you managed to get anything useful out of today that will help you in the next rounds? Unfortunately in this rain it is impossible to do anything. It is not wet enough for wet tyres, not dry enough for slicks. We've stopped now and we'll wait to see if it's dry or wet but for now we have nothing to do. Thruxton is totally different to Brands Hatch so it is impossible to get anything useful for there. ©2003 www.BTCCinfo.co.uk |
